Pave Set Engagement Rings

About & Features

Pave set engagement rings are masterpieces created with care and expert craftsmanship. The name pave comes from the word ‘pavement’, to represent stones that are placed close together. Each diamond is selected to ensure it fits properly and enhances the beauty of the ring. The small diamonds, so close together, create the illusion that the entire band is a surface made purely of diamonds, as very little of the metal band shows. In this way the brilliance and fire of the diamonds are maximized.

The pave effect can be applied to half the band (half pave) or go around the entire band (full pave). The design of the ring is highly customizable. The solitaire is usually a princess cut or brilliant round diamond as they create a look of symmetry and classic elegance. This setting is best suited to platinum or white gold bands, as these hues emphasize the illusion of freestanding diamonds.

Advantages

  • Highly customizable
  • Expertly and uniquely crafted
  • The exposure of the diamonds are maximized
  • Illusion of freestanding diamonds
  • Brilliance and fire
  • Matching wedding band can be created

Downsides

Despite the impressive appearance of the full pave ring it can be uncomfortable, as the small diamonds may rub against other fingers. The encompassing brilliance of a full pave band can also detract from the beauty of the solitaire.
